Privacy Policy

Luminary is a personal manifestation and intention-tracking practice. We collect only what we need to deliver the practice to you, and we hold it with care.

What we collect

Account information. Your name and email address are managed by Clerk, our authentication provider. We store a reference to your Clerk user ID in our own database but do not store your password.

Practice data. The intentions you set, the evidence you log, your gratitude entries, your ritual streak, and your AI Guide conversations are stored in our database and associated with your account.

Daily Letter subscription. If you subscribe, we store your email address, preferred delivery time, and timezone.

Push notifications. If you opt in, we store your browser's push subscription endpoint and keys. We do not store device identifiers.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your subscription status and trial dates. We never see or store your card number.

How we use it

We use your practice data exclusively to deliver the Luminary experience — generating personalised affirmations, writing your daily letter, powering the AI Guide, and surfacing your own prior reflections. We do not use your data for advertising.

Third-party services

Luminary uses the following trusted third-party services: Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (AI model powering the Guide, affirmations, and daily letter), Resend (email delivery), and Replit (infrastructure and hosting).

When you use the AI Guide or affirmation features, the content of your intentions and relevant practice data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models under their current API terms.

Cookies

Luminary uses strictly necessary cookies for authentication (managed by Clerk). These are required for the service to function. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.

Data retention

Your practice data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can manage most of this through the Settings page. To request full data deletion or export, contact us at privacy@luminary.app. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR respectively, including the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Children

Luminary is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
